Toronto-via-California duo Snowblink has premiered a second video off their sophomore album, Inner Classics, for the song, “Goodbye Eyes” via - repost via YouTube here. Created by Carla Susanto, the animated video is a voyage through a forest and fields lit only by the moon, perfectly capturing the atmosphere evoked by the song itself. Inner Classics was released last month by Arts & Crafts, garnering excellent reviews on both sides of the border. Snowblink spent the summer supporting Feist and Cold Specks in North America, before a run of dates in Los Angeles – the duo headed to British Columbia to play the Rifflandia Festival in Victoria, celebrated with a record release show in Toronto and were part of Feist’s backing band at her Polaris Prize gala performance.   Snowblink are currently in the midst of a quick run of northeast dates with Great Lake Swimmers, including last night in New York – upcoming dates below. More dates are in the works.

Snowblink are Daniela Gesundheit and Dan Goldman who released a beguiling debut in 2010 that caught the attention of ears worldwide, while the band toured relentlessly supporting artists such as Jeff Tweedy, Owen Pallet, Local Natives, Destroyer, Dawes, Timber Timbre, amongst others.  Gesundheit wrote Inner Classics first on the icy shores of Lake Erie and then on the sunny shores of Malibu. The album title is taken from the traditional Chinese medicine text, “Inner Classic,” or “Huang Di Nei Jing”, written by several anonymous authors between 300 and 100 B.C.E. Inner Classics was recorded in Toronto and Montreal with co-producer Chris Stringer (Timber Timbre/Ohbijou).  The result is an absolutely stunning album that is both haunting and hopeful, centered around Gesundheit’s gorgeous voice, which Interview Magazine called “inhumanly smooth.”
